The Montana Department of Revenue reports the Market Value of property in Ravalli County is up $308 million over last year. The Taxable Value of that property is up over $4 million.

This year, the Ravalli County Market Value was $5,264,603,461, with Taxable Value at $79,505,053.

For comparison, in 2016, the Market Value was $4,956,204,825, with the Taxable Value at $75,330,069. The totals include mobile homes, personal property business equipment, real property and centrally assessed properties.

According to Mary Ann Dunwell of the Revenue Department, officials certify the taxable values in all 56 Montana counties by August 7th each year.

Dunwell reported that local governments set their budgets and mill levies for property tax calculations using the certified values. The state reports are at the Montana Department of Revenue website.
