Ravalli County Recyclers in Hamilton Get Busier
On Saturdays from 9 a.m. to Noon and Mondays from 3 to 6 p.m., the traffic gets a little congested on Old Corvallis Road near the Ravalli County Fairgrounds.
Those are the two operating times for Ravalli County Recycling, a group of volunteers who have taken it upon themselves to get some “bare bones” recycling done here in the Bitterroot Valley.
The collection spot, next to the Habitat for Humanity Re-sale Center, accepts all sorts of material – cardboard (flattened and no wax), telephone books, magazines, tin cans, newspaper and office paper.
They have recently added Bayern Brewery’s beer bottles (9 inch brown bottles with smooth re-capable tops). The Missoula brewery is also recycling its cardboard six-pack holders.
And, some limited curbside service is now available, for a fee. Curbside service of most items from Hamilton, Corvallis and Victor cost few dollars. You can clean your and then, the Coop truck will drop by $15 monthly, $28 bi-weekly or $52 weekly.
