From 6 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday morning, valley folks will be walking around the Corvallis Event Center track, raising money for the American Cancer Society with the Ravalli County Relay for Life.

Organizer Robin Holcomb said the June 28-29 event is always well attended and starts with the Opening Ceremony, followed by the the Survivors' Lap and then the teams start their trek, which ends at 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

The Luminaria Ceremony, with the little lit bags lining the track, will start at 1 p.m. and the reading of names of people who have been touched by cancer or have lost their lives to the disease.

Other activities- including everything from a gaggle of sports team mascots (including Grizzly mascot Monte) to Zumba at Midnight will be part of the overnight fundraiser.

Local bands will also be performing to keep the walkers entertained as they round the track.
