Reno-Tahoe Bid for 2022 Winter Games Still Alive

U.S. officials said they wouldn’t consider making a bid for the 2022 Games without they deal formalized Thursday.
Andy Chapman of the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association says it’s one of the most important hurdles to clear in the bid to bring the Olympics back to Tahoe, where they were held at Squaw Valley in 1960.
Andy Wirth, CEO of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, told the Reno Gazette-Journal there are still other variables in the mix but it’s “nothing but positive news” and he’s “thrilled.”
Others exploring bids include Denver, Salt Lake City and Bozeman, Mont.
