A cow moose was killed over a week ago near Avon, Montana and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks wardens need some help from the public.

The moose was poached Monday, February 18, northeast of Avon, near Carpenter Creek and Ophir Creek. The moose's body has "multiple gunshot wounds from a small caliber rifle," according to warden Joe Kambic in a Montana FWP news release.

The original $1,000 reward for tips leading to a conviction has been raised to $2,000, Kambic said.
