Rocky Mountain Labs in Hamilton Work on Roads, Parking

Work has begun on the latest improvements to the campus at the Rocky Mountain Laboratories in Hamilton.
The current phase of the project, which will continue through the winter, includes a new parking lot inside the fenced area, a new loop road around the buildings and another parking area on South 5th Street. Construction hours will be from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Local businesses are involved in the project.
At a community meeting, officials said the weather will be the determining factor on which parts of the project will be done during the winter months. A temporary chain link fence has been erected, which is a few feet closer to the property line than the planned permanent black, iron fence that will match the rest of the lab’s fencing.
A new parking lot will be constructed in what have been vacant lots west of Hamilton’s Golden Age Center. That lot will connect with a loop road that will encircle the main buildings of the lab.
There will be five phases to the project, which will include landscaping, utility work and lighting.
