The emergency closure of the Saddle Complex Fire on the West Fork Ranger District is being lifted as of 8am September 29. Bitterroot National Forest Supervisor Julie King said the closure was in place since August 24 and this will re-open a large number of roads and trails south of Painted Rocks Reservoir.
Included are Hughes Creek Road, Thunder Mountain Road, Chicken Creek Trail, Razorback Mountain Trail, the loop between Horse Creek Pass and Woods Creek Pass, Horse Creek Hot Springs and Spring Creek Road to Shoup, Idaho.
There are some roads remaining closed on the Idaho side of the fire. Those are on the Salmon-Challis National Forest and include Horse Creek Hot Springs to Gattin Ranch, the road to Blue Nose Lookout and the Colson Creek Road.
Please be aware of falling snags or trees, open flames, rolling rocks and debris and limited visibility due to smoke from the fire, which is still burning. Also, there still is fire traffic, so drive carefully.
