Hamilton's Sapphire Community Health center has received almost $50,000 in federal Health and Human Services money during National Health Center Week. The money is part of almost a million dollars being sent to Montana for Quality Improvement awards. According to the HHS, Sapphire received money for Electronic Health Record Reporting, Clinical Quality Improvement, Advancing Health Information Technology and Achieving Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition award.

Senator Jon Tester applauded the grants, saying, "Community health centers provide unique services tailored to the needs of the folks they serve." Tester has been working to secure resources after the Community Health Center Fund expired. Since then, Congress has passed four short term budgets, he said. Sapphire Community Health is on the 300 block of North 3rd Street and provides general primary medical care for all ages, including sports physicals, immunizations, vaccines, screening for cancer, women's care and the rates are based on a sliding fee payment schedule based on income. The center's number is 541-0032.
