Scots and Irish Will Gather in Hamilton
The 2011 Bitterroot Scottish Irish Festival will be a gathering of the clans on the Daly Mansion grounds of Hamilton.
Thousands attended the inaugural festival last year, and over 25 clans will be represented this year. The local organizers will have a welcoming Ceilidh at 6pm Friday night, August 26th. The SAAA Sanctioned Highland Games and the SPBA Sanctioned Pipes and Drums will be Saturday, starting at 9am. The group Potcheen will be in concert at 7pm. Sunday, more family fun from 9am to 4pm. The Festival includes vendors, food, demonstrations and even jousting!
Admission for the entire weekend is only $15. One-day passes are $10.
The Clan Chieftan sponsor is Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital.
The event takes place at the 26-acre Daly Mansion grounds, a summer retreat for Montana Copper King (and Irishman) Marcus Daly. Tours of the mansion will be conducted throughout the festival.
