Scottish-Irish Festival – Big Guys and Heavy Weights
The Pro Masters Championship Games were held Saturday on the grounds of the Daly Mansion in Hamilton.
The Bitterroot Scottish Irish Festival was welcomed by a huge crowd, celebrating the third year of the festival that honors the heritage of Scotland and Ireland and the Bitterroot Valley.
This year was the first year for the Pro Masters Championship Games in the Northern Rockies, according to festival organizers.
The professional athletes are members of the International Highland Games Federation.
The events under the trees of the Daly Mansion grounds were the Hammer (see photo), the Weight for Distance, the Weight Over Bar, the Sheaf Toss, the Stone Throw and the infamous Caber Toss.
The competition went on throughout Saturday to the rousing applause of the crowds. Sunday, the children's competition will be held on the festival's third and final day.
