Senator Baucus Joins in Annual Run to Honor Sherry Arnold
Montana Senator Max Baucus and his wife Melodee, even though they were in Washington, D.C., participated in the second annual Sherry Arnold Run/Walk Saturday.
Arnold was kidnapped and killed while she was taking a morning run in Sidney, Montana, in January last year. Her body was not found for two months.
The "virtual" runs were organized by Arnold's cousin, Beth Risdon of Longmont, Colorado, to honor the Sidney teacher and the first run last year had 500 people attend in Sidney, and runners across the country were encouraged to run at the same time. Another simultaneous run was held last year and this year at Rocky Mountain College in Billings.
Senator Baucus, an avid runner, said, "Mel and I were honored...to remember Sherry and show our support for her family, friends, students and everyone missing her today and every day."
