You have plenty of chances to see some great rodeo action this week in the Bitterroot Valley with the Senior Pros in town!

The first two days of competition will be at the Darby rodeo grounds, on the north end of Darby, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 24 and 25. The arena doesn't have lights, so the action starts at 6 p.m. both days.

Then, after a day off (when a lot of the cowboys go fishing and golfing), the Senior Pro Rodeo moves to the Ravalli County Fairgrounds arena and action starts about 8 p.m. with the ropin', ridin' and cussin'.

The guys and gals are earning national points on the National Senior Pro rodeo circuit and the Hamilton arena has won several awards over the years as one of the best locations for the pros.

Also, Friday night, the Bitterroot Dancers group is sponsoring a rodeo dance at the Ravalli County Fairgrounds Event Center. The band will be "Western Union." The dance will actually start at about the same time as Friday's rodeo, but will last much longer, heading into the 11 p.m. hour.
