The YWCA’s Pathways program offers safe shelter, crisis counseling and support for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, including the 24-hour crisis line: 406.542.1944 or 800.483.7858; emergency women and children’s shelter; walk-in peer counseling; support groups; in-house licensed therapist; referrals to community resources; and legal, personal and medical advocacy.
Missoula YWCA Executive Director Cindy Weese has worked with domestic and sexual violence for more than 20 years. In today’s program, she talks about the fact that 90 percent of assaults occur where victims and offenders are acquaintances, intimate partners, or family. Listen here…
The YWCA is one of the first referrals in cases of sexual assault. They have two important webpages people needing help should visit. Even if you don’t need immediate assistance, these sites provide additional information to increase our understanding and perception.
