Proof that the weather in the Bitterroot is different from the weather in Missoula, even though the National Weather Service lumps them into the same forecast.

Monday, the forecast was for mostly cloudy and no real chance of snow. That was correct for Missoula. But here in Hamilton, the snow started in the morning and little storms visited us all day long. A system passed through the valley and much of Idaho south of us, but missed Missoula.

Those who commute north and south through the valley know that 50 miles can make a huge difference in this country.

So, the forecast for the rest of the week for Missoula and the Bitterroot Valley....mostly cloudy with a good chance of showers Thursday afternoon and evening. Flip a coin.
