This blue-eyed "snowbird" popped up during a snowy afternoon Thursday, December 28, west of Hamilton.

It was quite a bit larger than a real snowy owl, and the blue eyes were a nice touch. The warm weather and rain the next 24 hours took its toll on the creation, but the effort was worth it. Nice job!

By the way, in the last few years, real snowy owls have been spending some of their winters around Flathead Lake.
