Speechwriter Takes Blame for Melania Trump Plagiarism Scandal
We now know who was behind Melania Trump’s plagiarized speech at the Republican National Convention.
Speechwriter Meredith McIver has taken the heat for the speech, which lifted phrases from another speech given by Michelle Obama in 2008 and caused a furor on the convention’s first day.

Trump’s speech sent the internet into a tizzy and led to the hashtag #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes on Twitter.
It should be noted that while McIver is taking the fall, the first draft of the speech was written by two other people before Melania stepped in to write before McIver herself lent a hand.
Melania’s husband is not letting the controversy deter him in any capacity, either:
Good news is Melania's speech got more publicity than any in the history of politics especially if you believe that all press is good press!

And while you may think the matter is now closed, the admission by McIver may have led to a surprising new controversy. Some people don’t believe she’s a real person.
