“Sprinkle Pink” Smashes Funding Goal
The county-wide “Sprinkle Pink” fundraising campaign for the Mammography Fund at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital burst through the $20,000 goal for the month of October and exceeded it by over $11,000.
Monday, Hospital staff and members of Soroptimists of Hamilton held a surprise check presentation at the office of Dr Dirk Beyer’s Big Sky Eye Care. The business was the top fundraiser for the month-long effort. Dr Beyer was also one of the “Mammo-men” – a dedicated group of men who dressed up in pink as part of a fund drive that was tied to the Hamilton Downtown Association “First Friday” event in October.
Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital administrator John Bartos congratulated Dr Beyer and announced the grand total of the fundraising event. He noted that the hospital matched the $31,000 – penny for penny – so the total was over $62,000. He thanked the community for their generous donations.
The money is available to pay for mammograms for low income women or those who have no insurance. It was started by the Soroptimists years ago and this is the second year of intense fundraising to replenish the account.
