A crew working at reconciling the accounts of the Ravalli county treasurers office, led by Ravalli County Clerk and Recorder Regina Plettenberg, reported to the county commissioners yesterday their progress so far.

They have found 0ver $800,000 of undeposited checks and have received a warning from the State Department of Revenue of possible $37,000 in interest charges for delinquent tax filings.

Plettenberg and treasurers deputy Dan Whitesett provided the number so far at the commissioners office Tuesday.

Plettenberg said the day-to-day operations are continuing at the treasurers office. Treasurer Valerie Stamey was put on administrative leave with pay last week by the commissioners who appointed her last year. She has alleged corruption in the commissioners office.

Commissioners will be discussing the situation at a series of meeting Thursday.
