There some changes in the spring turkey season, according to the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks Commission.

The proposal would increase the available permits from 100 to 150 in hunting district 282-20, northwest of Missoula. There would be a decrease from 10 to only 5 in hunting district 445-20 near Great Falls.

The commission also is proposing to cloase bighorn sheep hunting in district 455 near Helena, due to low population of sheep there.

And, in eastern Montana, the bear management unit 700 quote for black bears would be increased from 4 to 8 bears.

You can comment online at fwp.mt.gov or mail your comments to Montana FWP, Wildlife Bureau, PO Box 200701, Helena MT 59620-0701. Deadline is January 28th, 2013.
