Logging traffic will be evident on road in the north Bitterroot Valley from now until May.

Tod McKay of the Bitterroot National Forest said that the Haacke Claremont timber sale harvest is being conducted by Tricon Timber of St Regis. He said that about a million board feet of timber is expected from the cutting.

Increased traffic of logging trucks and heavy machinery will during the weekday on forest and county roads east of Stevensville.

McKay said that icy conditions also have caused the closure on Ambrose Creek Road 428 and Haacke Saddle roads 1339, 1339A and 1339B.
