Stevensville Nabs Block Grant for Sewer

The Montana Department of Commerce announced the Community Development Block Grant – Economic Development for the infrastructure project.
The line will be extended to the industrial park zone that includes Selway Corporation and Bitterroot Tool & Machine. Officials said the line will enable the businesses to stay at their present location, retaining 133 employees.
Dore Schwinden, Director of the Montana Department of Commerce, said, “This project is literally laying the groundwork for future business expansion in Stevensville…It will also attract new businesses to the industrial park.”
The Ravalli County Economic Development Authority will assist in administration of the project. The RCEDA has also helped Selway Corporation, other businesses and valley governments negotiate with Montana Rail Link to restore rail service to the north end of the Bitterroot Valley.
