This is the opening weekend for the Stevensville Playhouse presentation of "Barnum," the story of the early career of American showman P.T. Barnum.

The musical by Mark Bramble and Michael Stewart, with music by Cy Coleman, will combine traditional musical theater with the excitement of the circus.

In fact, there's a "pre-performance" each evening of actors doing circus-type things like stilt-walking, juggling and other acts to amaze you. So come a half-hour early!

The show runs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday through October 13, with Friday and Saturday curtain times 7:30 (pre-show at 7 p.m.) and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. (pre-performance at 1:30 p.m.) Advance tickets are $10 for adults ($15 at the door).
