Vehicle Recovery Victim Identified [DOCUMENT] [VIDEO]

UPDATE 12:00 noon 6/12/14

The victim in Wednesday's vehicle recovery effort in the Clark Fork River has been identified as Melvin Arthur Beedle, 71. The cause and manner of death are under investigation by the Missoula County Coroner. The investigation into what caused the accident is being handled by the Missoula Police Department.

UPDATE 4:00 P.M. 6/11/2014

Missoula Police Department Public Information Officer Travis Welsh issued a news release on Wednesday afternoon regarding efforts to recover the vehicle that submerged in the Clark Fork River.

Clark Fork River Search Called Off

The search has been suspended for a 19 year-old man who jumped off the Madison Street Bridge Wednesday evening and disappeared in the swollen Clark Fork River. Missoula County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Jason Johnson says search and rescue boats and jet-skis traveled down the Clark Fork for several miles, but found no trace of the young man’s body.
