Last Week of Hunting Season – Elk Numbers Down

The Darby hunters check station, operated by the Montana Department of Fish Wildlife and Parks, noted a weekend elk harvest of 136 for the season, which is down about four percent from last year.

With less than a week left in the general hunting season, the deer harvest at Darby was down 25 percent for mule deer, at 27, and up 11 percent for whitetail deer at 89 animals
