Thursday, June 6, was the last day for school classes at the Grantsdale Elementary School south of Hamilton.
The school bell, which dates back to the earliest days of the school over 100 years ago, was rung by all the students who were enrolled in this last year, along with various adults who attended the closing day lunch and ceremony
The lunch was free to all the adults and students, the music was fun from the 2nd through 5th Grades, and the words were poignant from retiring principal Kathleen Dent, who will be the last principal of Grantsdale Elementary School, which closed Thursday, June 6
The Grantsdale kids do an annual "wax museum," where the students dress up as personalities from history and stand very still until an onlooker presses a button. They come to life and do a bit of acting as the character
