Darby School Election May 7 Includes Levy Request
The election at the Darby School District includes a $50,000 Building Reserve Fund Levy. District Clerk Caroline Rennaker reported the fund would be about 5 mills for each of four years.
The money would be used to meet matching requirements for a project for junior high gymnasium locker room additions and for building roof replacement and repair plans
Work Begins on Hamilton’s Fairgrounds Road
Crews began work on a major Fairgrounds Road renovation this past week.
First up, a walking path/sidewalk on the south side of the street leading to the Hamilton High School. The dirt was being moved and the foundation was being prepared for the new surface, replacing a weed-infested ditch

Ravalli County Recyclers in Hamilton Get Busier
On Saturdays from 9 a.m. to Noon and Mondays from 3 to 6 p.m., the traffic gets a little congested on Old Corvallis Road near the Ravalli County Fairgrounds.
Those are the two operating times for Ravalli County Recycling, a group of volunteers who have taken it upon themselves to get some "bare bones" recycling done here in the Bitterroot Valley
Diminishing Bitterroot Snowpack May Lower Summer Streamflow
With another month of less than expected snowfall, the Bitterroot River drainage is now the lowest percentage in Montana, with 85 percent of average.
The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) reported weather patterns in March favored the northern part of Montana with more snow in the St Mary-Milk River Basin with 108 of average at the beginning of April, a gain of about 5 percent
