I absolutely love chicken and dumplings, especially on a chili fall evening in Montana. There is nothing quite like hot soup to help thaw out your bones after a long cold day. This recipe is a great one for doing just that.
This recipe mixes two of my favorite foods in the world. It is a delicious medley of pumpkin pie and French toast. The great thing about it is that you can eat it like pumpkin pie with some whipped cream or eat it like French toast with butter and syrup.
To this day this is the most requested breakfast by everyone in my family. My mom made these about once a month for us kids when we were growing up. One of my kids’ favorite snacks is puppy chow. No, not actual dog food, but a delicious cereal snack. There are many different kinds of puppy chow, from peanut butter and Nutella, to peppermint bark and Reeses.

I had all the ingredients to make it sitting in my pantry so I decided to try it. I have to admit that it lived up to the hype.
A few years ago I was at a get-together and someone brought this soup to it. I loved it and absconded with the recipe before the night was over. Since then, it has been a staple cold-weather meal in our house.
The recent colder weather has been making me itch for some pumpkin. I can taste it. Fall is just around the corner, and with it comes pumpkin season. It’s the time of year when pumpkin flavored everything appears.
