She Doesn’t Need Superman: Author Tim Hanley On ‘investigating Lois Lane’ [Interview]

Lois Lane wasn't designed to be a headliner, but simply a player in Superman's adventures. The Biggest Event Of All Time: Looking Back At ‘The Death Of Superman’

"Let's just kill him."

That was Jerry Ordway's solution to the problem that the creative teams behind Superman were facing in the early '90s. After building for years to a wedding between Lois Lane and Clark Kent --- something that had been brewing in comics since 1938 --- plans were put on hold so that the storyline could coincide with the upcoming wedding on TV's Lois and Clark.

The idea was that timing the two versions of the wedding to run at the same time would lead the show's audience into comic book stores and boost sales, but it left the comics with a year of space to fill, and finding something that would take up time and keep readers interested while the TV storyline caught up proved to be difficult. It was so frustrating, in fact, that Ordway's solution ended up being the best idea, and on this day in 1992, DC published 'The Death Of Superman'.

Fantastic Five: Best Punches in Comics History

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our years on the Internet, it’s that there’s no aspect of comics that can’t be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten. And since there’s no more definitive authority than ComicsAlliance, we’re taking it upon ourselves to compile Top Five lists of everything you could ever want to know about comics.

As we all know, comics, and especially superhero comics, are gratuitously violent slugfests that corrupt the morals of children by telling them that we can solve all our problems with our fists and/or lasers. As such, there have been literally tens of thousands of punches thrown across the history of the superhero, and what I have done here is diligently scoured and subsequently rated each one on a 100-point scale so that I might objectively rate the five very best, rather than just writing about five different punches that seemed especially notable to me at the time I was composing this script, which I definitely did not do. No sir.

Superman Takes A GoPro For A Spin In Awesome Fan Film [Video]

As ubiquitous as hands-free GoPro cameras have become in action sports (I notice about a dozen atop helmets every time I go snowboarding) and parkour, there are scant few videos online showing the HD recorders at work in costumed crimefighting. Thanks to the team at Corridor Digital and their drone-flying friend Taylor Chien, Superman fans now have some insight into what it'd look like if The Man of Steel strapped one to his Kryptonian noggin' and flew around southern California Metropolis.
