Noreen Walsh, the current Deputy Regional Director, will step up to the new Regional Director for the Mountain-Prairie Region of the US Fish and Wildlife Service.

The region includes eight states - Montana, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas

Eagles and Wolves Were Poisoned

Four wolves and six eagles were found dead in the Bob Marshall Wilderness earlier this year.

Now a reward of $2,500 is being offered for information leading to a conviction in the incident.

In May, the animals were found in the area of the Big Prairie Ranger Station

A huge drop in elk population in the Bitterroot Valley's West Fork has caused concern from wolf managers. The 2010 survey showed 764 elk there. The Montana Department of Fish Wildlife and Parks (FWP) would like to have between 1,600 to 2,400 elk in the zone-wide area
