The Institute for Tourism and Economic Research at the University of Montana recently completed a study of the eight counties in what is called Glacier Country. Non-resident travel contributed over $250 million dollars to the economy of Missoula County alone.

Yellowstone National Park became a centerpiece in the national debate over sequestration when the National Park Service said it would be forced to delay the park's opening day due to cuts. There was lots of confusion and little communication, but now there is more clarity as to how the cuts were handed down.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will be hosting a series of public meetings around the state this month as a first step toward developing a long-term bison conservation and management
plan for the state. In west-central Montana, interested persons may attend the
meeting in Missoula, which will be held on May 14 from 6-9 p.m. at the Holiday
Inn, Downtown at the Park (200 S. Pattee).
