A crowd of hundreds braved the smoky conditions of the Bitterroot Valley to watch "Taming of the Shrew" with MSU's Shakespeare in the Parks Monday evening.

The William Shakespeare comedy was set in an old west time period, with a few added topical lines to bridge the ages between the English playwright and today's audience.

The outdoor presentation at the Large Lawn of the Sapphire Lutheran Homes in Hamilton was amplified with a speaker system to reach the back rows of the audience.

In case you missed it, "The Taming of the Shrew" will be performed at the University of Montana Oval August 31. The other summer presentation "Cyrano de Bergerac" will at the University of Montana Oval on September 1.
