They Marched to ‘Take Back the Night’ in Hamilton
For the 12th year in a row, a group of concerned citizens marched down Hamilton's Main Street on their "Take Back the Night" demonstration April 27.
The event was part of a worldwide effort to advocate for the rights of everyone to feel safe from violence and take a stand against rape and sexual assault.
This year's march followed a route from Legion Park, along US 93, then on Main Street to the Bitterroot River Bridge, where a short ceremony was held.
The "Take Back the Night" activities were sponsored by the Ravalli County Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence.
Jamie Ogden reminded people that SAFE in the Bitterroot has a 24-hour Crisis Line for anyone who needs support because of sexual violence. That number is 363-4600.
