Trapper Peak in A Bitterroot Winter
A winter coating of snow makes Trapper Peak very photogenic this time of year.
The best view of Trapper Peak is just south of the US 93 bridge over the Bitterroot River north of Conner. That's where this photo was snapped.
The mountain is very popular with hikers and climbers in the Bitterroot Mountains, and at 10,571 feet, is the tallest in the Bitterroot Valley. The main trail to the top is a steep hike with a bit of a rocky scramble at the summit. But the view .... magnificent.
