Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital is continuing its public education classes with a session on eye health Thursday, April 13, and an exercise class starting next week.

Dr. Mark Calderwood of Bitteroot Valley Eye Associates will present information about eye health and how other physical factors can affect eyesight. His free presentation will include topics such as weight, diabetes, nutrition and good eye care habits.

The 5:30 p.m. hour-long event will be preceded with free eyesight checks at 5 p.m.
The presentation will be in the Blodgett/Canyon View Conference Rooms, just inside the Main Entrance of the hospital.

Next week, starting April 18, is a four week exercise class in the Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Center.

"Roll for Control" will be presented by Holly Jarvis, a physical therapist and certified personal trainer.

The twice-a-week session will run on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 12 noon from April 18 to May 12. The classes will help you strengthen your body's core muscles, which will help with balance and bladder and bowel control. The classes include using an exercise ball, band and clip with take-home materials. This class will cost $85 and you can sign up at 375-4570.

Further classes are being offered throughout the year at the hospital and you can find more information at their website.
