The University of Montana has hired a new women's golf coach.

Athletics director Jim O'Day said Wednesday that Emily Milberger will replace Joanne Steele, who coached the Grizzlies for 15 seasons before resigning in June to start the women's golf program at North Florida.

Milberger was an assistant coach at Oklahoma for the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons and spent the last two years coaching at SMU in Dallas, including a stint as interim head coach. She was a four-year letter winner and a four-time National Golf Coaches Association Academic All-American at Oklahoma from 2001 to 2005.

O'Day says Milberger "brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from coaching at two of the top golf programs in the country."
