The scene is simple...a hallway, turning into another hallway. The view - from the kid's Big Wheel. Then, another corner and another....and two little girls are there...where they shoudn't be....looking more dead than alive....because they are. "Come and play." I don't think so.
"The Shining" was an incredible book - one of Steven King's best. The movie, however, was way overdone in all its elements. As subtle as a brick. Even if you hadn't read the book, you could sense that Kubrick was maybe trying too hard.
But he was "dead" on with those two little girls. Total chills. Get me out of here. Good stuff.
