University of Montana Named to Top 100 in Nation
The University of Montana has been ranked as one of the top 100 Best U.S. colleges and universities by The Best Schools latest rankings.
The colleges are scored on reputation, faculty, dedication to a broad liberal arts education, accreditation and overall academic excellence. Two colleges are selected from each state. UM and Carroll College were included this year.
According to a news release, UM's ranking recognized its size and location, along with course offerings, extracurricular activities and opportunities to study abroad.
UM President Royce Engstrom told KLYQ News he was not surprised by the honor. "It's one of best educations you can get, especially when you consider we're working hard to keep the cost of education down. When you think of the values in education, University of Montana is one of the best."
Engstrom and other campus leaders were in the Bitterroot Valley Thursday, visiting Florence-Carlton, Stevensville and Hamilton High Schools, and meeting with the Bitterroot Alums at a gathering at Higherground Brewing.
