This week has been wild and wacky for weather in the Bitterroot Valley ... and all of western Montana, for that matter.

We had a huge snowstorm Sunday, which almost all melted Monday.

Another snowstorm hit after that, causing very slick roads Wednesday and Thursday.

Sunshine on Friday .... but what about that wind?

As much as we get tossed around as we approach the official start of Spring March 20, the animals are a little peeved, too. Photographer Mike Daniels shows us two examples from the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge.

The top photo shows a disgruntled Columbian ground squirrel. The bottom photo shows a heron flying through a snowstorm with some reinforcement material for a nest.
