Victor Man Fights Extradition to Washington in Murder Case

59-year-old Clifford Everell Reed of Victor refused to identify himself in a court appearance in Hamilton District Court and signed documents with the letter “X.” A formal request will need to come from King County, Washington, where the death occurred.
Reed is charged with second-degree murder and is in the Ravalli County Jail on $5 million bail. He was a co-worker of the 28-year-old Johnson when she disappeared in 1996. Her remains were found in 2004 near a Washington highway.
Officers worked with Ravalli County Sheriff’s Officers to apprehend Reed. Undersheriff Perry Johnson described the Montana part of the arrest.
