Professor Hipolito Rafael Chacon will present "Art of Glacier National Park" at the Ravalli County Museum Thursday evening, May 8, at 6 p.m.

Professor Chicon will show a 40-minute illustrated Power Point presentation which highlights the time period when the Great Northern Railroad was promoting the park's scenery in historic posters.

James J. Hill built his railroad over the previously unmapped Marias Pass, which brought the trains past what became the main entrance to Glacier National Park.

Chacon will also answer questions from the audience. His appearance is sponsored by Humanities Montana.

The lecture is part of the "Free and Late Thursday" openings of the museum, where admission is not charged. By the way, the free Thursdays are sponsored in part by another rail company - the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation of Montana Rail Link.
