The snowfall was much heavier in nowrthwestern Montana, but the Bitterroot Valley had snow on the ground Monday morning.

The weather system caused a number of vehicle side-offs and seerious accidents from St Ignatius to Polson, where at least six inches of snow fell around Flathead Lake.

In the Hamilton area, snow started later in the day Sunday, but there was enough to get the ice scrapers out again Monday morning before you could drive to work. Temperatures will return to near normal this week, forecasters promise.
