What Are You Lookin’ At?

This camel seems more curious about me than I am about it. It’s one of the half-dozen camels available for you to ride, just like Hope and Crosby in one of the “Road” pictures. If that sentence didn’t mean anything to you, I feel sorry for ya.
The camel rides are just part of the new features at the Ravalli County Fair. The Kid’s Pedal Tractor Pull is a blast! The Soropotmists have added to their frozen banana menu another obsession – chocolate covered strawberries on a stick. And the Knights of Columbus are offering authentic cajun gumbo.
Saturday’s features include the 4-H/FFA livestock auction to start the day, a lot of fun at the KLYQ Free Stage with the Country Step Cloggers at Noon, the Bitterroot Community Band at 1pm, hypnotist Michael Mezmer at 3pm and 6pm, and a new feature – poetry reading at about 4:30.
Another night of NRA rodeo will fill the grandstands Saturday night. And then Sunday, one more day of carnival rides. What a week of fair fun! I’m gonna try to stare down the camel. Check the fair page.
