Will A Photo of Yours Be in This Museum Display?
Last year’s entries (see photo) in the Ravalli County Museum’s “Ernst Peterson Photograph Montana ” contest were exceptional and the entry deadline for this year’s competition is fast approaching.
The deadline is February 2nd.
The main contest is divided up into various categories – “Montana-Color,” “Montana-Black and White,” “Montana-Manipulated,” and “Beyond Montana.” The age categories are: Younger Student age 12 or younger, Older Student age 13-18, Professional, Amateur, and Panoramic.
Because of the volume of entries, the “Amateur” category has a number of divisions – scenic, people, flowers, structures, domestic animals, wild animals, abstract, humorous, and macro (close up). Entry Fee for Adults is $5 per photo and fee for students is $3 per photo. There are other rules for submission, and they are on the official entry form at the Ravalli County Museum website.
The photos will be on display at Hamilton’s Ravalli County Museum from February 6 to April 13, with the Awards Ceremony February 9.
There’s a new way this year to be part of the fun – online with Selfies, Photo Bombs and Memes! Go to the Ravalli County Museum Facebook page and submit your own photo in any or all of those three categories under the hashtags #petersoncontest or #ravallimuseum. The MEME text can be somebody else’s words, but the photo MUST be your own.
Whoever gets the most “likes” on the Museum page will get A $50 gift certificate from Bitterroot Beanery.
