Tyson Foods has donated a truckload of chicken to the Montana Food Bank Network. the 30,000 pounds of chicken will arrive in Missoula Nov 22 and distribution was cover the state.
It’s part of the Tyson Foods “KNOW Hunger” campaign, which started nationwide in March.
Musician Huey Lewis, who has lived part-time in the Bitterroot Valley, is a friend of John Tyson, and suggested a Montana Food Bank donation. Huey has supported the network and has voiced some of their announcements and educational videos.
Tyson foods has donated more than 82 million pounds of food in the last 10 years. Montana Food Bank officials say that 1 in 7 Montanans are struggling with hunger and 1 in 5 children in the state live below the poverty line.
