Winter Special Olympians Will Compete at Lost Trail Powder Mountain
Tuesday, January 29, and Wednesday, January 30, the competition will be intense at Lost Trail Powder Mountain.
And no matter who comes across the finish line first, the smiles will be for all the competitors.
It’s the Winter Special Olympics at Lost Trail and they’ve gotten pretty good at hosting the area’s races – they’ve been doing it for 32 years now.
Organizers are expecting over 100 competitors again this year, and they can always use more volunteers. If you’d like to help, you can still call Carla at (406) 363-3028. Volunteers help run the races, keep track of the scores and pour the hot chocolate.
The torch lighting and grand march will be Tuesday, along with a banquet that evening. Wednesday is full of activity as the Special Olympians go from event to event.
We again want to thank Earth and Wood, the business that started all this over 30 years ago and have been major fundraisers for the events every year since. Of course, Randy and the crew don’t want to take the spotlight. Like all those who help put on the event, they just do it for the smiles!
