As you might expect, the snow is piling up in the passes and on the mountains around Western Montana.

Weather forecasts were showing a large storm moving in from the Pacific coast. The wind blew Saturday night and the rain started Sunday morning in Hamilton, followed by mix of rain and snow. Only light amounts were noted by 4 p.m., but more was expected overnight.

Traveling conditions on valley roads were expected to be hazardous Monday morning with lower temperatures causing the wet roads to become icy. Drive cautiously!

Colder temperatures are expected during the next few days.
