Part of the Woods Creek Road in the West Fork has been closed due to a washout.

Bitterroot National Forest officials said the washout happened in the last few days and was apparently caused by a plugged culvert. The debris was washed down a hillside by a heavy rainfall.

The washout is at the head of Woods Creek, where the road makes a sharp turn in a climb to Woods Creek Pass. The closure is at the junction of Woods Creek and Woods Ridge Road #5665 - at milepost 5.2, according to information released Monday. Repairs are being planned.
