Worried About Your Financial Future? — Survey
Most people are at least a little shaky about what the future holds when it comes to their money, but it looks like now is the time people are more fearful of their financial security. According to a new survey from Gallup, Americans are more worried about their economic future than they have been at any point over the last 20 years.
Gallup’s poll of 1,011 adults revealed that 51 percent are concerned they will not be able to maintain their current standard of living, 43 percent are worried about not being able to pay their medical costs over the next 12 months, and 34 percent believe that they or their spouse could lose their job over the next year.
When put together, these figures represent the most financial insecurity Americans have been feeling since 1992, and about a 50 percent rise in feelings of financial insecurity since 2004.
