OK, I know you all have plans for this weekend. But Mother Nature has thrown a few roadblocks your way...maybe. It all depends on where you're headed.
The Skalkaho Pass is closed due to water over the road and some road damage from flooding, according to the Montana Department of Transportation.
The Montana State Parks people have closed a few places due to high water.
The campgrounds along Grasshopper Creek at Bannack State Park are closed until further notice. They are:

  • Vigilante Campground
  • Road Agent Campground
  • Group Use Area
  • The Bannack town site is unaffected by the high water and is open to the public.
Portions of Missouri Headwaters State Park north of Three Forks are closed. They are:

  • Confluence Parking Area
  • Fort Rock Parking Area
  • Picnic Area
  • Ling Rock Parking
  • Boat Ramp
  • The campground itself is unaffected and the park is open to the public.
There are a few closures on the Bitterroot National Forest, so check with the Ranger Stations before you head out. The Bitterroot Forest Supervisor's Office also has information on high water areas.
And, we've included a photo of Garnet Ghost town. Why? No high water there. However, the route there has been clogged with snow. If it's not one thing, it's another.
