Forest Service crews will be replacing a culvert on a road in the south end of the Bitterroot Valley next week.
The Bitterroot National Forest crew from the Sula Ranger District will be closing Road #729 near Indian Trees Campground on the west fork of Camp Creek.
The closure will start May 9th and will probably last for a week. The road will be closed at the left turn just before the campground. The forest officials are concerned about spring runoff this year. They were worried that the high water might’ve plugged the current small culvert and cause a road washout.
The new culvert will also allow more natural streamflow and help fish passage.
For more information, call the Sula Ranger District at 406-821-3201.
